Maybe theres a strong case for more mindfulness, meditation out there – slow us down to point where we can relax and appreciate reading of different genres more. I’m finding walking in beautiful landscapes in the fresh air pretty grounding .. making my mind/brain more receptive.
Sorry Jude – not a very literary answer but I think you know where I’m coming from! I think a case in point will be re-reading Water Babies!
